    This was just a quickie project. I found a Stealth Voltron Princess Allura figure for two bucks in a clearance rack and nabbed it. Later, I decided that all I really needed to do was alter the head to make it an Actionmaster femme. Needless to say, I ended up doing more than that, extensively touching up the paint job and adding to it. I removed the head, cut away much of the hair, and then built the helmet out of putty with two slices of styrene sheet plastic for the sides. When I was done with that, I decided the face looked too Barbie for my tastes, and I put on a faceplate. Not being able to leave well enough alone, I ended up carving the hardened faceplate into a sort of Gundam look. The B on the helmet is actually shaped putty.

    The name was inspired by the team of Bug and Byte from Firestorm #24 (which I got because it had a free 8-page minicomic bound in that introduced Blue Devil). My version has Bug as a backpack scarab that can fly free or be used as a jetpack...yep, my first Actionmaster partner!

Byte doesn't even miss her old altmode, and has removed all traces of it from her new body. She spends as little time in her body as possible anyway, preferring to roam the circuits of Cybertron's infonet, or even the crude Terran internet. Her partner, Bug, does the "legwork" to gather information not available via wires and electromagnetic waves. Bug has a stealth field that renders him invisible to most forms of detection, and he can fly silently at speeds up to 300 mph. When combined, Bugbyte can fly silently and invisibly at 150 mph, and Byte's static charger is capable of randomizing both security systems and enemy Autobot circuits.
