(Chop Shop and Sundor added)
When Bakugan first came out, I contemplated getting some for cheap once they
bombed and use them as extra planetoids for Unicron. But they didn't bomb,
so that idea got filed away for later. By 2010, though, they'd gotten
successful enough to start going on overstock clearance, yay!
Because of all the tiny moving parts, any attempt to radically recolor a
Bakugan means dye. After several failed attempts involving cold dye and
"lowest level on the burner" dye, I put together a dye
vat that let me safely take the temperature to nearly boiling, at which
point Rit dye takes in Bakugan plastic.
Bakutapes
The Wired (warning, wikia.com
link) Bakugan is almost perfect for the condor cassettecons Laserbeak and
Buzzsaw, but it doesn't come in black. So I dyed some Haos (light gray)
Wireds black and repainted them. I later bought some orange dye and made
Sundor from a Subterra (light tan) Wired. I also bought blue dye for another
project, but ran out of Wired.
Insectigans
There's some insect Bakugan, a few of which even look like something besides
a pile of random parts. The Scraper/Clawder mold is shooting for "earwig
with abdomen arched over back" I think. I could be wrong, though.
